PUNKHORN

The Punkhorn Conservation area is in Brewster but easily accessed from the Bike Depot. The Punkhorns feature mild singletrack and fire road terrain. Very little technical, and few drops or elevations however some trail can be sandy while others wet. Great place to get out and hammer those legs. From the Bike Depot take Depot st north about ¾ mile and right on Factory Rd. 1 block take Westgate Rd into the Punkhorns. Be aware the area is widely used for hiking and horseback. Please respect others.

TRAIL OF TEARS

Mountain biking on Cape Cod may sound like an oxymoron but the Trail Of Tears in The west Barnstable Conservation area provides some of the best riding in the region. 17 miles of loomy singletrack, rock gardens, and short technical climbs will challenge the best of us and you get it all in one package. Enter from 3 points off route 6 at exit 5.

-Service Road just south off the exit to the right. Park under the power lines

-Route 149 at Popple Bottom Rd. about ½ mile south on Rte 149

-Race Lane/NEMBA parking area. Take 149 south to the grass airport and turn right at the roundabout onto Race Lane. Parking area is about 2 miles on the right.

NICKERSON STATE PARK

Nickerson offers both paved and off-road riding. Moderately hilly paved paths curl through the fir woods, around kettle ponds and up and down the hollows of the park. Off-roaders will find areas of singletrack crisscrossing the loop along with the equestrian trails and powerlines dropping in and out of the hollows. Nickerson offers picnic areas, swimming and rest rooms.
