Park Tool School® The Park Tool Company announces the Park Tool School®, a unique program for learning bicycle maintenance and repair in a hands-on environment. The Park Tool School® is a bicycle repair class with curriculum designed by the Park Tool Company.

The Park Tool School® is taught by the certified mechanics at The Bike Depot, experts in repairing and maintaining bicycles. You will receive the Park Tool School® manual as part of the class providing you information on basic mechanical skills as well as detailed instructions for repairing and maintaining wheels, bearing assemblies, braking and shifting systems, etc.--everything you need to know to keep your bicycle rolling smoothly and safely. The material in the student manual acts as the outline for each session of the clinic, which is augmented by the hands-on demonstration of the instructor.The 6 Hour clinic includes such topics as· Work space set up · Tools and lubrication · Wheels, tires and tubes · Brakes and cables · Derailleur adjustment The 12 Hour clinic includes the above topics, as well as topics like these:· Hands on wheel truing · Bearing service and adjustment (headset, bottom bracket and hubs) · Hands-on brake adjustments (pads and cables) · Derailleur adjustments (cable, indexing, limits and shifters) · Stem, bar and seat post adjustment

The 6 Hour tune-up clinic is offered for $69 which includes instruction, the required manual ($22.99) and the service you performed on your bike.

The 12 Hour overhaul clinic costs $129. Those who have completed the short course can take the remaining topics of the long course at the pro-rated cost of $60.

Classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and last for roughly 3 hours each session.

Upon completion students will receive a certificate of completion, a 10% discount on tools, lubes and cleaners, and the ability to service your own bike, saving money in regular maintenance and saving a long walk out of the woods by avoiding breakdowns or performing trail-side repairs.
